June 22

Margaritas Calling

Not the band, just the drink.  Another in the Race Committee’s undying efforts to make racing sociable.  White sail, start at Holyrood 11:00 am, race to the marina in Bay Roberts, make your way to Jungle Jim’s, eat, drink, tell lies.

July 13

Terra Nova Triangle

Start the season with the Terra Nova Triangle.  With a little luck and the right winds this will be a beat, reach and run combination in the arm.  Of course it may not be in that order, and the wind may change half way through the race.  That’s the joy of racing in Holyrood Bay.

Aug 2-3

Newfoundland Keelboat Championships

The Newfoundland Keelboat Championships.  Usually this is the best largest fleet of the season.  If you’re a racing enthusiast, this is your weekend.... two days of racing with excellent crews from RNYC raising the competitive bar.

Aug 10

Commodore’s Cup

Commodore’s Cup...  Your chance to have your name on the Club’s most historic silver (with one year’s responsibility for keeping it shiny thrown in).  This venerable trophy was donated by P. Derrick Bowring, and symbolizes triumph in this race.

Aug 19

   ??????

This is different.  Some want to try a weeknight race, so here it is.  Skippers’ meeting at 6.00 p.m. and start at 6.30 p.m.

Aug 31

Holyrood Cup

Holyrood Cup…  Labour day weekend comes late this year but those who have gone cruising should be back for this one just the same.  September brings the steadier winds, so we’ll try and incorporate the island in Harbour Main harbour as a mark for this one.

Sept 07

++ Make Up Race ++

We're doing a make up race this Sunday.  Usual time for Skipper's 9.30.  Weather forecast is the pits, but who believes the Sunday forecast on Wednesday.

Sept 11

White Sail

Thought we would squeeze in a race on a Thursday night. It will be a mandatory white sail to encourage newcomers.  We'd have to start at six.

Sept 13

Mate’s Mug

Mates Mug…  Time to let someone else run the show.  Regular Skippers may be aboard their vessels, but we’re counting on your integrity to allow another crew member to take over and skipper this race.
