All Sunday races start at 10:10AM with a skippers’ meeting to be held on the wharf at 9:30AM.  The 10 minute countdown starts at 10:00 AM.    Vessels will normally keep their own time during the Sunday races.

Newfoundland Keelboat Championships are run by the local CYA racing committee.  Ratings use PHRF for comparable boats.

Commodore’s Cup

Commodore’s Cup...  Your chance to have your name on the Club’s most historic silver (with one year’s responsibility for keeping it shiny thrown in).  This venerable trophy was donated by P. Derrick Bowring, and symbolizes triumph in this race.

Sunday, August 03

Holyrood Cup

Become a local hero with your name on a cup at the Town Hall.  September brings the steadier winds, so we’ll try and incorporate the island in Harbour Main harbour as a mark for this one.

Sunday, August 17

Terra Nova Triangle

A get acquainted race - start the season with the Terra Nova Triangle.  With a little luck and the right winds this will be a beat, reach and run combination in the arm.  Of course it may not be in that order, and the wind may change half way through the race.  That’s the joy of racing in Holyrood Bay.

Sunday, September 07

Mate’s Mug

Button your lip, close your eyes and let the mate show you what you've been doing wrong all season.  Time to let someone else run the show.  Regular Skippers may be aboard their vessels, but we’re counting on your integrity to allow another crew member to take over and skipper this race.  Remember the mate for the Mate's Mug must be a person who has not skippered the boat in any of the previous races.  We will also have a barbeque following the mates mug at the club.

Annual Run for Chips
(a.k.a. ARC Run)

This fun event will be held at a date to be announced...likely one that is most convenient for the participants.

If you don’t want to skipper your own boat but would like to race let the rest of us know as the crowd who race are always happy with extra crew.
